Now in its fifth year, Freefall is a curated series of free concerts and community festivals in Charlottesville. Each week features excellent music and new ways for us connect with one another.

Freefall started in 2015 as the Levitt Amp Concert series. WTJU 91.1 FM, IX Art Park, and the Levitt Foundation all shared a belief in the power of free outdoor music to bring communities together.

In its third year, the 2017 concert series struck on its own and became Freefall. (A series of free fall concerts… get it?)

Following the events of August 11 & 12, 2017 Freefall amped up its commitment to promoting an inclusive and welcoming community. We brought in new partners and added the Black Business Expo and other community programming.

WTJU and IX Art Park are committed to enriching the lives of everyone in the Charlottesville area. Freefall is our signature event series to do just that.

About IX Art Park

Imagine a walk-through, sculptural, mural-festooned destination that’s free and open for the public to wander, night and day. Welcome to the IX Art Park: a public, non-commercial, interactive space for spontaneous dreaming

It’s all about possibility. And the power of collective creativity.

The IX Art Park is located at 522 2nd Street SE in Charlottesville, Virginia. Admission is free and the park open dawn to dusk, 7 days a week (and later for events).
